Shailaja Malhotra, M.D., received her medical degree from MLN Medical College, Allahabad, India. Dr. Malhotra completed her residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology in India. She continued her training at the University of Tennessee at Memphis and completed a residency in Family.
Dr. Malhotra has a special interest in women's needs and geriatric care. She is welcoming new patients.
Dr. Joel T. Ashworth, Jr. is a graduate of University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. His internship and residency was done at Jacksonville Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Upon completing his service in the Navy he began private practice in Richmond, VA in 1980. His family practice includes pediatrics, gynecology and geriatrics therefore he cares for many multigenerational families. Dr. Ashworth has been the football team physician of his alma mater, Varina High School, for 30 years.
Dr. Ashworth has been married to his wife, Jan, for forty years and they have 3 sons and a grandson. He sings in the church choir and The Men’s Ensemble and his interests include football, gardening, kayaking and skiing.
